Part-time Administrative Assistant for Careers & Athletics

Lake Forest College is accepting applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant for Careers & Athletics to support the Vice President for Career Advancement and Athletics, the Gorter Family Career Advancement Center, and the Forester Athletic Department. This is a multifaceted position in-which the candidate will perform a variety of administrative roles and responsibilities that support student development, career planning and preparation, departmental programming and operational proficiency. The position is ideal for someone desiring to work in higher-education, and will include completing a variety of administrative tasks, interacting with various internal and external stakeholders, and impacting department and program success in career advancement, athletics, and overall institutional engagement. The nature of the position will require a commitment of approximately 15 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling and may include occasional evening/weekend work.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will provide opportunities and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Vice President and department leaders with a variety of projects, presentations, research, and reports.
  • Managing assigned administrative tasks, including email and meeting correspondence, letter writing, mailings and other miscellaneous office related duties.
  • Assisting with stakeholder and sponsorship engagement and outreach.
  • Tracking stakeholder engagement and updating records.
  • Assisting with planning and executing various programs and events.
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Serving as a valuable member of both the Career Advancement Center and Athletic Department teams.
  • Supporting the mission, goals, and policies of the College.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college or university is required. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a self-starter, have superb time management and organizational skills, and able to meet deadlines. The ability to engage positively and effectively with students, faculty and staff, alumni, parents, employer partners and other external stakeholders of the College is an integral part of the role. The successful candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and comfortable working with data, CRM systems, and various social media platforms.
