Human Resources Manager

Lake Forest College, recently ranked the top liberal arts school in the Midwest, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to plan, develop, and administer human resources functions as well as advise on related issues. The successful candidate will be a versatile HR generalist who is ready to handle multiple areas of HR, collaborate with campus stakeholders, and support strategic HR initiatives.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop job descriptions, identify targeted recruitment sources, manage employment offers, and counsel managers on offers of employment.
  • Build candidate pipelines for organization to develop and retain high level talent.
  • Create and conduct formal onboarding program with HR Coordinator.
  • Administer benefits programs, including compliance and audit responsibilities.
  • Execute annual open enrollment process.
  • Handle day-to-day employee relations issues, including investigations and accommodation requests.
  • Counsel managers on employee issues.
  • Manage performance evaluation process for staff employees and optimize performance management process in ADP.
  • Research compliance issues and recommend changes.
  • Ensure accuracy of data in ADP.
  • Collect and analyze HR data and metrics; prepare data for internal stakeholders and external entities (i.e. EEO reporting).
  • Implement and manage Recruitment module in ADP.
  • Review and approve payroll with Finance team.
  • Manage time off programs, including sick leave.
  • Provide training to managers on HR topics.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of related HR generalist experience required with at least one year of experience conducting investigations
  • Experience working in a college or nonprofit setting preferred
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
  • Proficiency with ADP strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Commitment to DEIB principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
