CNN turns to Nevin Heard for insight on racial trauma
CNN reporter Kristen Rogers turned to Director of Intercultural Relations Nevin Heard for insight on understanding racial trauma.
Heard was quoted extensively in the story, “Understanding racial trauma, the mental and emotional injury of racism,” that ran nationally.
“People do not have to experience an incident of racial discrimination or harm directly to have adverse emotional consequences,” Heard is quoted in the story that CNN ran on February 16, 2023.
News outlets picked up the CNN story across the country, from KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara, California to The Philadelphia Tribune in Pennsylvania, and many major cities in between, including Columbia, Missouri; Madison, Wisconsin; Evansville, Indiana; Shreveport, Louisiana; and Atlanta, Georgia.
