Felkey co-written papers accepted into prestigious journal

Two academic papers co-written by Professor of Economics Amanda J. Felkey have been accepted for inclusion in the prestigious American Economic Review Papers and Proceedings journal that publishes selected papers once a year.

portrait of Cassondra Batz-BarbarichThe first paper, “Can Women Teach Math (and be Promoted)? A Meta-Analysis of Gender Difference Across Student Teaching Evaluations,” was co-authored by Felkey and Assistant Professor of Business Cassondra Batz-Barbarich. In it, the two explore gender difference across student teaching evaluations.

portrait of eva Dziadula ’07The second, “Micro Commitments: The Effect of Small Commitments on Academic Performance,” was co-authored by Felkey and Eva Dziadula ’07, an associate professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame. Their paper explores the effect of small commitments on academic performance. 

Both papers were presented at the American Economic Association (AEA) annual meeting in January 2021: one at the Enhancing Learning in Economics session sponsored by the Committee on Economic Education and the other at the Women in the Economics Professions session sponsored by the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession.

Established in 1885, the AEA is a non-profit, non-partisan, scholarly association dedicated to the discussion and publication of economics research.
