Becoming a Resident Assistant (RA) at Lake Forest College is considered one of the premier student leadership positions on campus. RAs are returning students who live within the residence halls and play an important role on the Residence Life staff. As we move into the 2023-2024 academic year RAs will have a renewed focus on helping students get involved, make connections, and feel safe, valued, and comfortable in their residential community. RA Selection Process
The Resident Assistant Application will open early in the Spring semester for positions beginning the following academic year.
The RA Interview process occurs about halfway through the Spring semester. RA applicants are required to participate in an Interview Day. Interviews will consist of meeting with a current staff member as well as completing an activity with fellow RA applicants.
Once interviews are completed, Residence Life staff meet to select RAs for the upcoming academic year. Students who are offered a position will receive an email offer that includes their residence hall placement. Candidates may also be offered a spot on our alternate list or encouraged to apply next year.
