Becoming a Resident Assistant (RA) at Lake Forest College is considered one of the premier student leadership positions any student can hold during their time on campus. RAs serve in a variety of roles, such as community builders, referral agents, and emergency contacts. If you enjoy interacting with peers, lending a helping hand, and being seen as a resource then we encourage you to consider applying to be an RA!

RA Selection Process
Resident Assistant Application will be open later in the Fall 2022 semester.
The Resident Assistant Application will open later during the Fall 2022 semester. Our office also has a nomination form that faculty and staff can complete to nominate students they believe will make successful RAs. A nomination is not required to apply for the role RA, however! Nominations help us target prospective students but is not a determinant in our hiring process.
The RA Interview process occurs during the Spring semester. RA applicants are invited to participate in an Interview Day - a dedicated day when candidates will complete interviews for the position, mix and mingle with current RA staff, and ask questions they have about the process and the role.
Once interviews are completed, Residence Life staff meet to select RAs for the upcoming academic year. Students who are offered a position will receive an email offer that includes a Conditions of Appointment form as well as a residence hall placement. Candidates may also be offered a spot on our alternate list or encouraged to apply next year.
