A night of music, film, and discussion

Join us for the virtual special event "Something New" featuring student musicians, an original film score, a celebraion of women's suffrage, and a panel discussion of experts on the topic.
Music Professor Don Meyer created this virtual event to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Women's Suffrage by developing an origial film score for "Something New", a 100 year old film, written, directed and acted by Nell Shipman, a female pioneer in the movie industry. The original film score will be performed for the first time at this event by over 20 Lake Forest College student musicians and violinist Kate Carter. The 33 minute film will be followed by a panel discussion of experts on music, spanish culture, and even an expert on Nell Shipman.
