Head Men's Soccer Coach

Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois is looking for Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Qualified candidates will be developing and leading the College’s men's soccer teams and program. Preparing soccer practice goals and ensuring that they are implemented properly. Assessing progress in the program and coaching/training the students accordingly. Devising and implementing soccer training plans, direction, encouragement, motivation, and nutritional advice to prepare athletes for games, competitive events, or tours. Integrating concepts from the strength and training courses into the soccer and other athletic programs. Recruiting and retaining qualified soccer players for the College. Monitoring the academic eligibility of student athletes. Coordinating contest scheduling and management. Identifying and recruiting potential athletes. Attending academic and athletic conferences. Keeping abreast of NCAA and Conference changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to the sport. Hiring and overseeing assistant soccer coaches. Performing activities that support the team, such as participating in community outreach activities, meeting with media representatives, and coordinating fundraising for the soccer teams. Serving the College on governance and academic and athletic program committees as elected and assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Sports, Physical Education or Sports Ministry and one year’s experience in position or one year’s experience in Soccer Coaching field.

Special requirements: Experience with leading a soccer team; devising soccer training plans; overseeing assistant soccer coaches; recruiting soccer players; and fundraising for a soccer team.
