A paper on gender bias co-written by Assistant Professor of Business Cassondra Batz-Barbarich and colleagues has been published in the Springer Nature journal, Sex Roles.

Cassondra Batz-Barbarich portraitBatz-Barbarich co-wrote “Evaluation of Women in Economics: Evidence of Gender Bias Following Behavioral Role Violations” with Whitney Buser, an economist at Georgia Institute of Technology, and Jill Kearns Hayter, associate professor of economics at East Tennessee State University.

“My hope is that this work will highlight an important gender inequity within higher education as we seek to create environments in which female-identifying faculty may thrive,” Batz-Barbarich said.

Sex Roles is a global, multidisciplinary, scholarly, social and behavioral journal that publishes original research reports to explore how gender organizes people’s lives and their surrounding worlds.
